The 2024 Celebrating Salish Language Conference highlights language trailblazers, youth involvement

Johnny Arlee emphasized the significance of preserving what the elders hold dear in their hearts and passing it down to the new generation.

X̣est łu ye sčluxʷ, nkʷney łu qe sccmelt u ƛ̓m yepn x̣est! Qʷamqʷmt łu Nk̓ʷusm Snac̓x̣ɫqeymintn! Our Nk̓ʷusm students sang for the Arlee Rehabilitation Center 3rd Annual Fundraiser Banquet Galla. They did awesome and we are thankful to be asked to share with them, lemlmtš Myrna Dumontier and all that made this event happen!

Qʷamqʷmt! Lemlmtš x̣ʷl̓ qe nk̓ʷul̓mn, qe sccmelt, qe nuwewlštn! We had a good day, Nk̓ʷusm did a presentation at Alberton school today and everyone did awesome! Thanks to our host for taking the time to hear our story and to learn a little about who we are.
